I have made contact with Tony Castillo - will be bringing him into the fold soon - for now please realize - that after 3 years of absence - Tony immediately reminded me of an old Schmidty classic...
Q: What has 2 legs and bleeds profusely?
Answer below...
Brad - Absolutely correct - politics sucks - Rock -N-Roll - music in general - much more interesting and dynamic - more characters than X-Men.
Magneto / Scott Stapp arrested again for throwing an Orangina bottle at his hooker of the week.
Orangina - bet $1000 that Keith Richards has no idea WTF Orangina is.
Anyway - the part that pisses me off to no end here is
1] Groupies without taste / rock -n- roll perspective. Any self respecting ho would not come near Creed - not when Dylan is touring!
2] Rockers who throw shit at stupid but hot strippers - you know, I can think of a lot of other uses for strippers, hos and groupies besides braining them with my pussy beverage of choice. Stapp is not even a good drunk. At least Survivor really really sucks - all of the time!
Speaking of our Summer Concert Series - Kevin as an official employee of Raley Field [when I want to] attended last Friday night's V101 old school R & B show.
Meritless - awful, loud.
Except 3 parts.
1] Midnight Star - If you do not appreciate the following lines - "I'll be your freakazoid / Come on and wipe me out" You are probably racist. Their show was fantastic - starting with 3 hooded members with their backs to the audience as the synthesizers poured in. Midnight Star props to for winning Kev's - who is most old school of the old school.
2] Props to Shannon for having mediocre breakdancers recruited from like the parking lot surrounding her show which was driven by pre-recorded music, awful vocals, and a WNBA body gyrating on stage in ways that will leave you crying and begging for your mommy to take you out of there and give you cocoa - as in, "I am not ready for this mommy, I was hoping it would be special"
3] And finally Morris day gets ups for one concert moment - he asks for a mirror - stage hand brings one out. Morris simulates grooming - stage hand goes away. Then Morris immediately returns to his sucky concert. So he had about 15 seconds of coolness.
Summer makes music sound better so here is Kevin's top 5 summer CD Rotation this year.
1. Bob Marley & The Wailers - KAYA
2. Bob Marley & The Wailers - Catch a Fire - Deluxe Edition Disc 1 - The original Jamaiican version - raw and cool.
3. Willie Nelson - Milk Cow Blues - [Who is that piano player anyway?]
4. The Rolling Stones - Sticky Fingers
5. Coldplay - X & Y - This is a confession more than a recomendation. I am a sucker for cheap crescendos [Pearl Jam - are you listening?]
Please comment - then read the answer to the joke below.
A: 1/2 a cat.
Viva the return of Tony Castillo!

I always wondered what happened to Scratchy... Schmitty and Tony combo bring back memories of many things, however, China's Internet censorship laws prevent me from posting these things.
So how do you become an on-demand Raley's Field employee? Is that part of your neighborhood CCR's or something?
As for Summer CD rotation, it is again aged & boring. Please don't tell me you're now longing for your VW Bus again.
Now, the Brock household has a much more exciting rotation/frequent playlist happening this summer:
1) Rush - Snakes & Arrows. As a self-admitted Rush fanatic, I would cut out 4 songs, re-order the track list and then call it their best effort since Power Windows.
2) Styx - Mr. Roboto. Who would've known that Styx was targeting the 4-6 year old demographic with this song? I've now heard it more in the last month than I had in my whole life.
3) Any music related to Superman or Spider-man movies and/or comics. So this list includes Train, Five for Fighting, Crash Test Dummies, Chad Kroeger/Nickelback, etc.
4) Andy Shelton - no record deal, no problem. This guys plays a mean guitar, has some fantastic pipes and outstanding songwriting abilities. http://www.broadjam.com/artists/artist_playlist.asp?artistID=16196
5) Marty Robbins - classic voice and music pioneer.
Nah -
VW Buses are like old girlfriends - after awhile you get to missing them - but about 2 weeks into the re-unification you remember why you broke up in the first place.
Aged / Boring - I know it - but the problem is when you get into a BM & W kind of mood NOTHING sounds better - you try to put something in - 20 seconds later - eject and you are right back to the
"Got to have Kaya now / 'for the rain is come"
Whatever that means.
"In the presence of water / The fool is thirsty"
or
"Will you quench me / When I'm thirsty / or will you cool me down / when I'm hot"
Like every single word and sound is cool - and it is easy to listen to - very rare in popular music.
Sticky fingers is sick and if I just pick it up now - well, it is new to me...So to each his own - if Nickelback is doing it for you - go for it.
As for me - if I found my kids playing Nickelback - imagine a 1940s father finding marijuana in his sons shoes in 1967 - same reaction.
"What is this shit?"
"What are you going to do with your life? Listen to shitty music? Throw Orangina bottles at hookers? "
Not in this house buddy - it is straight to Sticky Fingers and Sister Morphine for you Mr. bad anthem stadium rock guy!
Marty Robbins is cool - I will check the link out - but as you can see I am soliciting suggestions - Can't listen to BMW all my life...but I probably will..
Yep, just sitting back / trying to recapture a little of the...glory days.
